This site offers two methods for checking eviction history.
- ChoicePoint Eviction Search - This report is a low-cost solution that searches 50 states with instant results. This on-line database contains over 8.8 million records.
- Civil High Court County Report - This report is used when a state's eviction filings are not on-line or to verify eviction information with official court documents.
What is an eviction?
An eviction is the legal recovery of lands, tenements, etc. from another’s possession by due course of law - it is the process by which a landlord removes a tenant from physical possession of the rented property.
How is this data collected?
An eviction record is collected from the county level courts when a judgment is filed in court. Eviction data is collected from the courts by our vendor and placed on our FTP site daily. The vendor will collect the initial complaint date whenever possible.
